The location of Bansori Guest House is ideal and closest to Visva-Bharati campus bang opposite” Kalor Dokan”. The manager and staffs are excellent and caring. Food is very good. Those who fell in love with Tagore and the culture spread by him should embrace this guest house. The house earlier belonged to Suprio Thakur, a former principal of Patha Bhavan and a descendant of the Tagore family. The new owner (Capstan Shipping) manages silently beyond camera to ensure visitors are happy, safe and delighted. They are professional in service and ensure that price is kept within reach of middle class educated folks. Whenever, I come to Shantiniketan, I stay in Banshori and never thought of looking for alternatives (though I did a market survey few years ago). However, if your purpose is to booze full throat, please keep away from this place.
