Kaleswar Shiva Temple is located under Mayureswar Police Station in Birbuum district. The temple was established by Sri Raja Ramjiban of village Dheka under Mayureswar-II Block. It was established in 10th-11th Century. Kaleswar Shiva Tmple is famous for its height. The temple is an notable sculpture in the district. A village fair held every year during “Shivaratri”.
Kenduli-Joydev in Birbhum District:
Joydev-Kenduli is approximately 35 km from Bolpur Santiniketan. There are several temples located in Kenduli. Kenduli is the birthplace of great Sanskrit poet Joydev. Joydev composed the well-known Geet-Goinda, a Sanskrit lyrical poem. Kenduli is famous for its folk song festival held during Makar Sankranti.
Lakshmi Temple in Ghosh Gram in Birbhum District:
Lakshmi Temple in Ghosh Gram is approximately 12 km away from Tarapith. It is one of the oldest temple in Birbhum district. About 500 years ago a Saint Kamdev Bramacharya built Lakshmi murti with the help of Neem Tree and Ganga Soil.
